Loud and Proud History

It all began in 2000, with Bernie on drums, Freddy on rhythm guitar, Toby on bass, Chong on

lead Guitar and Marco on vocals.

We used to meet a few days a week in our practise room too drink a few beers, smoke a few

smokes and of course....make some noise!

We did this for about 2 years just for us. We were not interested in playing Gigs, we just had

fun and we were called "The mens singing club"

One day in July 2002 came the Rock´n´Roll Band "THE GIANTS" from Australia with

Stuart Woods on vocals and rhythm guitar, Mark Greg on lead guitar, Chris Barton on drums,

Greg Worthy on bass and Andy H on keyboards to Germany. They were doing a

European Tour.

Freddy, as a friend of the Giants, invited them over to the practise room, hopeing maybe for a

new song to play and Stuart obliged.

One week later Freddy had a phone call from Stuart:"Do you and your band want to play as

support band for us in Marienborn?....but you need a better name.....! Freddy said:" Well,

we´re loud and proud to play as your support band!" The boys said:" That´s a good name!!!"

"Loud and Proud" and that´s the way we got our name.

After our first gig came the first changes in the line up, Marco our singer left as so did our bassist,

so Freddy said to Chong´s brother Cheech:"Now you must play bass!" Cheech answered:

"I´ve never played bass before." Freddy answered:" It´s okay, i´ll cut off the top E string off

of your guitar!" ;o)

Cheech got himself a bass and started to learn by doing...he did ok. Freddy started singing for

the band and that lineup lasted about 40 Gigs in 2 years.

Then, in October 2004, Bernie and Cheech, our rhythm section, left. But Chong and Freddy said:

"We want to carry on with our Loud & Proud. " weeks later they found a new rhythm section,

Alex on drums and the old bass masitro Willy.

We play together for 8 months an now are having fun playing concerts in germany, holland and

Italy.

We just had finished our Demo CD : "One drunken Sunday"

Loud & Proud are a cover band (70er, 80er and 90er Rock´n´Roll+Blues) and they are working

hard on their own songs too!!!
